A Zendala is the Zentangle® version of a Mandala. The practice of
creating Mandalas is a very old tradition in many cultures. Intended as a
meditation tool to many, working in a circle has a very different,
flowing dynamic. When combined with the process of repetitive pattern
drawing, the induced meditative state takes your creativity to a whole
new level. Come relax and experience this process “in the round” while
creating beautiful, intricate, abstract art.
The skills developed
through this art form extend beyond the end result of a finished piece
of abstract art. Remove creative blocks, induce a state of mindfulness,
increase focus, experience relaxation, build self-esteem, indulge in
self-expression and bolster confidence.

This class is a
structured approach to working "In the Round" on “pre-strung” Zendala
tiles. We will be creating our Zendalas in the traditional black ink on
round, white tiles. Come and learn some new tangles, add shading, create
and enjoy!
PREREQUISITE: Zentangle 101 class with a Certified Zentangle Teacher is Required.
Class fee $35. 2 hours. Includes 5 Zendala tiles. (3 pre-strung, 2 blank).
Bring your own black Micron 01 pen (or other archival black pen), pencil, blending stump and sketchbook.
During my free Make and Take I met many wonderful and talented people. One in particular has been a dear friend ever since. She is a truly kind, giving, talented and beautiful person. She is what we call "Goddess Worthy". This past week she honored me by writing in her blog about my relationship with the Zentangle art form. I am ever so grateful to include her amongst my closest friends and would like to share the blog post with you. Please visit her site to immerse yourself in all the beauttiful photos and writings.
What is it? In our case, Studio "Z" is a 2 hour Zentangle session at Creative Creations Papercrafts. It's an opportunity to learn a more patterns for your "tangle vocabulary" and share inspiration with fellow tanglers. You can also pick my brain for any other Zentangle tidbits that are lurking in the corners!

First we learn a couple of tangles then you have your choice of either working on a project of your own or a project that we supply. To date we have tangled many things. Among those are artificial pumpkins, glass and ceramics, rocks and tag necklaces. If you have a request be sure to email me ahead of time so we can put a plan into action.

Bring your sketchbook, pens and anything you would like to share. We try to post a supply list on the CCP Class Calendar as well as the Two to Tangle Calendar. We also post any additional supply fees but so far, we haven't had any! However, should you need them, the store is stocked with items for your convenience. The cost of the class is $10.

Here are a few photos from last nights class (my photography skills are sorely lacking so please bear with me!). We learned two tangles - Ixorus and Fife. Our theme was Black on White or White on Black ATCs. Thanks to Darlene, Cheryl and Cathy for sharing their beautiful Zentangle ATCs. And thanks to Rochelle for her support. I could not offer these classes without CCP!

Then, Launie will instruct in Zentangle. The program will end with my playing the Himalayan singing bowls.
